Job Description: Executive Director (full time)
Location: Prince Albert, Saskachawan
Job Summary
The Executive Director will have the opportunity to provide insight and leadership in developing a program at this newly established treatment facility. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will work with the Board, key partners and diverse stakeholders to focus on organizational development and administrative systems. This position will be responsible for the monitoring of the organization’s needs, services and programs.
The Valley Hill Youth Treatment Centre is a newly established provincial residential treatment facility for youth aged 12-17. While the facility is not yet ready for operation, the Centre is expecting to begin accepting clients in Spring 2012.
Historical partners for the project include the Prince Albert Grand Council, Prince Albert Regional Health Authority and the Saskatchewan Ministry of Health. The partners have played a significant role in facility design and development and the creation of a non-profit organization.
Qualfications:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Health/Human Services and credentials demonstrating management practice. Preferably a Master’s level education related to Addictions. Background in the health and/or human service fields with direct experience in Mental Health and Addictions.

The Counsellor helps clients understand and address substance abuse and related problems, including family dynamics, and lifestyle changes. The Counsellor is expected to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals within the organization, and to establish and maintain partnerships with related community organizations.
Qualifications:
Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in Humanities (BSW, MSW, BHSc in Addictions, Social Worker Diploma, Diploma in Addictions Treatment and Prevention, ICADC or about to write the exam for your ICADC). Previous work in the field of addictions and/or the health field.
