Nationally Certified Tobacco Addiction Specialist (NCTAS)

This certification is NOT reciprocal with other IC&RC member boards.

Requirements:

Must have a professional status: counsellor, therapist, practitioner, etc.

Attendance at a six day training session
(The uniqueness of this training is that you will actually participate in the treatment process over the six days).

Pre-reading of the first four lessons of the Training Manual.

Successful completion of the course and examination.

Participation in a telephone follow-up program.

Membership in CACCF.

Signing of CACCF's Code of Ethics.

Re-Certification
Must be re-certified every 2 years by submitting proof of 20 CACCF approved continuing education hours. These hours must be "core" specific to addiction training. Click Here for clarification of the requirements for "Core" and "Related" hours.
