International Certified Co-Occurring Disorders Professional (ICCDP)

This certification is reciprocal with other IC&RC member boards.

This credential has a bachelor's degree. Like all of CACCF`s certifications, this credential is competency based. There are seven criteria that must be met:

1. CACCF Membership
2. Education
3. Experience
4. Supervision
5. Examination
6. Re-Certification
7. Annual signing of CACCF Code of Ethics CACCF Membership

Minimum of a bachelor's degree in concurrent disorder or in behavioural health sciences with a clinical application

200 documented hours of education in the knowledge and skill areas **

4,000 hours specific concurrent disorder counselling experience plus 2000 counselling for a total of 6000 hours (in the last 5 years)

3.5 hour examination

200 hours of clinical supervision

Recertification: 40 hours continuing education every two years. Of these 40 hours, 28 hours must be core addiction specific training. Click Here for clarification of the requirements for "Core" and "Related" hours.

 

**Required Knowledge and Skills:
140 hours minimum contact hours of Concurrent Disorders Specific Training. The training must include a focus on both substance use and mental health and considers the interactive relationship between the disorders.
30 hours (minimum) contact hours of Mental Health Specific training.
30 hours (minimum) contact hours of Addictions Specific training.
6 hours (minimum) contact hours of Professional Ethics must also be included.
